An affectionate survey of some musical artists who, with their cultured wry wit and jazz inflection, take their cue from the daddy of all pianist-singer-songwriters, Hoagy Carmichael.
Presenting song and anecdote from behind the piano, Chris Ingham examines the work of Nat Cole, Bobby Troup, Dave Frishberg, Bob Dorough, Blossom Dearie, Mose Allison, Georgie Fame, Alan Price, Billy Joel and Randy Newman, among others.
